About Principal Akeem Langham

Principal Akeem Langham is an educator and leader driven by a deep belief in what scholars are capable of becoming when they are seen, challenged, and supported at the highest level. He is a proud graduate of Elon University, where he built the academic foundation that continues to shape his commitment to excellence in education.

In high school, his favorite subject was Algebra I - a class that reflects the way he thinks about learning today: structured, problem-solving, and rooted in the belief that every student can master complex ideas with the right support and expectations.

Principal Langham’s leadership is defined by one clear strength: a consistent focus on scholars - their brilliance, their potential, and what they deserve. He centers young people in every decision, pushing adults to hold high standards while never losing sight of the individual learner in front of them.

In his own words, he describes the work this way:

“I have appreciated so deeply the moments I’ve had in the classroom where I watch a scholar grow and foster a belief in themselves that was very small or hidden at the start of the year. Because I’ve come to get that same energy out of developing adults and being able to watch those moments happen for kids in more classrooms as a result, I’m excited to set the direction for development across an entire school. I have a young daughter, and I find that I have a clearer and higher bar of excellence for schools in imagining the type of school I want her to attend. I am fueled to work towards creating it so that we’ve reached that bar by the time she is in high school. I understand clearly the degree of trust parents have in us to play a huge role in their child’s development, so I feel a lot of urgency to get this right.”

That sense of urgency shows up in everything he does. Principal Langham leads with clarity, high expectations, and a strong belief that schools must deliver excellence not just in outcomes, but in the daily experience of scholars and families.
